Antakya

Barry reminisces...
The channel carved through the mountain by the Romans to transport water to the local harbor was very impressive. 80 feet deep or so, the tunnel still carries water today in the carved trough. Amazing. It was also weird passing bus loads of new soldiers in "civies" out for an excursion in the country protected by armed uniformed guards with machine guns.
